DHARAMSHALA: Tibet supporters from all over Asia will hold a massive rally at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on 26 August to express solidarity with the Tibetans suffering brutal repression under Chinese rule.
The rally will be organised by Asian Tibet Support Groups and facilitated by the Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India.
More than 2,000 Tibet supporters from all walks of life are expected to participate in the rally to express their genuine concerns and heartfelt support for the just cause of Tibet, the organisers said.
The rally aims to show the genuine concerns and deep sense of anguish by the Tibetans at the continued denial of human rights in Tibet and the unprecedented annihilation of Tibetan cultural identity.
It will highlight the wave of Tibetan self-immolations that has swept Tibet and the dire need to preserve Tibet’s fragile ecosystem which is being destroyed by the Chinese regime, causing great threat to the whole world, particularly Asian countries. The cause of Tibet is therefore the cause of Asian people, seeking freedom, justice and equality.
Since 2009, a total of 120 Tibetans inside Tibet have set themselves on fire calling for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans.
