Dharamshala:His Eminence the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
Ogyen Trinley Dorje today presided over a three-day prayer service to
mourn the execution of four Tibetans by the Chinese government on 20
October for their alleged role in last year’s peaceful March protest
against five decades of repression.The memorial service, which will go on till 2 November, is being organised by ten Tibetan organisations based in Dharamsala. Four
young Tibetans – Lobsang Gyaltsen, aged 27, born in Lhasa, Loyak, aged
25, of Tashi Khang, Shol Township, Lhasa, Penkyi, aged 21 and an
unidentified person – were executed as information received by the
Central Tibetan Administration. Today’s prayer service was
attended by the monks of Namgyal monastery, Kirti monastery, Gyuto
monastery, Tsechokling monastery, and nuns of Dolmaling nunnery and
Gaden Choeling nunnery in Dharamsala.
