Washington DC: On Monday afternoon, Representative Ngodup Tsering met with Congressman Tim Burchett. Burchett is the congressman for the 2nd congressional district of Tennessee and formerly served as the Knox County mayor.
He is a newly elected member of the Congress and serves in the Committee of House Foreign Relations. He is a Republican.
Representative Tsering relayed the issue of Tibet to the Congressman who expressed full support for combatting Chinese colonization in the Tibetan Autonomous Region and outside of it as well. The Congressman stated that his dad served as an American soldier during World War II and knew early on the negative effects of the Communist party. At the end of the meeting, the congressman jokingly asked Representative Tsering if he has ever seen a Yeti.
