DHARAMSHALA: The Kashag of the Central Tibetan Administration has approved 32% increase over the basic salary of CTA staff effective 1 April 2013. This is an interim relief for the CTA staff until the 5th Pay Commission is constituted.

The CTA recently also pledged an increase in the monthly stipend for (1) former political prisoners from 3500 to 6000 Rs; (2) Elderly people without family from 900 to 1500 Rs ; (3) Elderly people with family from 700 to 1000 Rs (4) Stipend for disabled people from 700 to 1500 Rs, and (5) Performance-based scholarships for higher studies to encourage academic excellence.( Revised Norms of Scholarship)

“We hope this overall increase in the stipend, salary and scholarships will bring some relief to the staff and those in need in our community” Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay said.
