Tibet Solidarity Day Observed in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A prayer service (Prarthana Sabha) was held in Rajghat, Delhi to observe the International Tibet Solidarity Day on May 17. Kasur Tempa Tsering, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Delhi along with Buddhist monks from Japan, Myanmar, India (Himalayan and Tripura) attended the paryer service. Tibetans and Indian Tibet support groups also gathered to show their solidarity with the aspirations of the Tibetan people who yearn for freedom in Tibet.
International Tibet Solidarity Day in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR, AP: The Tibet Support Group of Arunachal Pradesh observed International Tibet Soliditary day at Itanagar on 17 May. A two minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the Tibetans who have set themselves on fire for the Tibetan cause. The Group also called for the release of 11th Panchen Lama Gedun Chokyi Nyima.
Tibetans Offer Butter Lamps in Darjeeling

DARJEELING: Tibetans in and around Darjeeling marked the International Tibet Solidarity Day on 17 May. A Prayer session followed by candle light vigil was organised by the Tibetan settlement office at Chowrasta. Signature campaigns for the release of 11 Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima and pamphlets on Tibet was also distributed. The signatures will be sent to the United Nations Committee on Enforced Disappearance.
Tibet Supporters call for the release of Panchen Lama in France

Mouans- Sartoux, France: A group of French Tibet supporters gathered at Mouans-Sartoux, France to express solidarity with the plight of Tibetans inside Tibet on the occasion of International Tibet Solidarity Day, May 17. They also called for the release of 11th Panchen Lama Gedun Chokyi Nyima. The Mayor of the town, Mr André ASCHIERI who is also the Vice-President of the Regional Council showed concern about the drastic situation in Tibet.
