
Moscow, RUSSIA: ‘Thank you Russia’ concluded in Moscow with Tibetan traditional songs and music performed by renowned Tibetan artist Techung. Techung is a Tibetan Folk and freedom singer/songwriter living in exile and a recipient of New York States Council for the Arts (NYSCA) and the New York Foundations for arts (NYFA) 2018 fellowship in Folk and Traditional Arts.
The concluding ceremony of ‘Thank You Russia’ was organised by Tibet Culture & Information Center, (Office of Tibet, Moscow). Attending the event at the Tibetan/Buryat Buddhist themed restaurant Selenge were over sixty longtime friends and supporters of Tibet.
Deputy Director of Save Tibet Foundation, Natasha Inozemtsova made the opening remarks on behalf of Telo Tulku Rinpoche, Honorary Representative of H.H. the Dalai Lama to Russia, Mongolia and CIS countries, by thanking all organizations, groups, dharma centers, business leaders and individuals who have supported the Tibetan cause and continue to support Tibet’s struggle.
Deputy Secretary, Mr. Karma Tenzin presented Tibetan Souvenirs and Certificate of Acknowledgements to Natalia Bespalova Director of Drepung Gomang Russia Foundation, Roman Sukhastavsky, filmmaker of ‘Save Tibet Russia’ group of Kalmyk Volunteers for Tibet Yeshi Korlo, Director of Drukpa Kagyu group.
After the formal ceremony, the guests were welcomed to a Tibetan Style festive dinner with Tibetan delicacies and the beautiful Tibetan Music performed by Techung. He performed some of his hit songs from his albums. All enjoyed and appreciated the wonderful event as it gave all a feeling of being in Tibet.
On behalf of Central Tibetan Administration and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Tibet Culture & Information Center (Office of Tibet, Moscow) extended thanks to all friends and supporters for their years of solidarity, inspirations, guidance, advice, support and most of all, friendship and unweaving support for Tibet.
