DHARAMSHALA: CTA Home Secretary Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang and other senior officials met Ms Bhawati Charavorty, a Norwegian Church AID (NCA) project consultant, to discuss current and future welfare and developmental projects on 15 March.
The meeting discussed the ongoing projects in the Tibetan settlements – (1) Promotion of organic farming at Doeguling Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod, Karnataka State and Dhargyaling Tibetan Settlement in Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh; (2) Herbal and medicinal plant research project at Organic Research and Training Centre at Bylakuppe and (3) Training hall renovation and purchase of tractor at Organic Research and Training Centre at Bylakuppe.
Forthcoming project on organic farming and cultivation of medicinal and herbal plants at Doeguling Tibetan Settlement for the year 2013-2014 was also discussed.
The meeting carried out evaluation of the status of unemployed youths who are given vocational skill training, and the revolving loan provided to them to start their work by the Department of Home.
