DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration is organising a three-day HIV/AIDS workshop cum support group meeting under a theme titled “Access to Services -HIV/AIDS: An overview”, at Mysore in southern India from 12 to 14 March, the department said in a press release today.
The workshop is conducted in collaboration with AshaKiran Hospital, a charitable hospital in Mysore providing specialised HIV/AIDS care and services. A total of about 15 participants, including 9 people living with HIV/AIDs and 6 health staff from DOH’s health centers in southern Tibetan settlements are taking part in this workshop. The resource persons include medical officers and psychologists from AshaKiran Hospital. It is facilitated by Tenzin Jinpa, HIV/AIDS coordinator at Department of Health.
“This workshop is aimed to promote collective discussion among the HIV patients regarding their experiences and problems. Additionally, specialised counseling and clinical guidance is provided to them for better management of their conditions,” the press release said.
