WASHINGTON: In response to a question on the Tibetan self-immolation on February 15, 2013, the United States has asked China “to address its own policies in Tibet that have caused these kinds of tension and frustration.” 

Spokesperson Victoria Nuland has also called on “on those who are immolating or those who might be considering this to think hard about whether it’s the best way to express yourself.”
