Connecticut: Kalon for the Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration, Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang headed for Connecticut after completing his official visit to Amherst, MA, on 13 July 2018. Kalon was accompanied by the President of Amherst Tibetan Association, Passang Norbu. Upon arrival at Connecticut, Kalon was warmly received by the newly elected President of the Tibetan Association, Samten and other members.
Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang held a meeting with the Tibetan people living in Connecticut on the 14 July 2018. He greeted the audience of 200 people attending the meeting and gave his public talk. Before the talk begun, the students of Tibetan Weekend School presented Tibetan folk dances and welcome song.
Kalon spoke on the Middle Way Policy of the Central Tibetan Administration which is a mutually beneficial approach to both Chinese and Tibetans. He also explained about the “Thank You Year-2018” events being organised in the countries where Tibetan exiles reside.
“His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s activities and services to the humankind have been, by and large, the greatest compared to his predecessors. Therefore the Tibetan people must rejoice and remember his kindness with great respect,” he said. He explained that the main purpose of his visit is to inform the Tibetan people about the activities and achievements of the present Kashag and also its future endeavours including the Five-Fifty vision.
