The Organising Committee for ‘Thank You India’ campaign in Karnataka headed by the Chief Representative of Southern Tibetan settlements, five Settlement Officers and president of the Tibetan cooperative society met Sh.H.D. Kumaraswamy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka and Dr G. Parameshwara, hon’ble deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka on 10 and 11 July 2018.
In their two-day meeting, the Organising Committee apprised the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister about the Central Tibetan Administration’s pronouncement to celebrate 2018 as a year of thanking Indian Government and the people of India. The Committee also informed them that 10 August 2018, has been agreed upon by the Tibetans residing in Karnataka to organise a program to thank the Government of Karnataka and its people. It was also communicated that His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be gracing the program on the above date. The committee extended invitations to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister for their presence at the program as Chief Guests which both Ministers accepted.
The Chief Representative then congratulated Sh. T.M. Vijay Bhaskar, I.A.S. Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka on his recent appointment to the post. The Chief Representative also gave an introduction of five Tibetan settlements in Karnataka and solicited his presence during the Thank you India program in Karnataka.
The Chief Representative accompanied by Presidents of Cooperative Society from five Tibetan Settlements in Karnataka met Sh. Bandeppa Khasmempur, Hon’ble Minister for Co-operation, Government of Karnataka and briefed him about the Cooperative societies in Tibetan Settlements in Karnataka.
