Geneva 4, July 2018: Representative Ngodup Dorjee, Office of Tibet in Geneva participated in the Tibet Support Groups’ meeting held from 29 June – 1 July 2018 in Bolzano, South Tyrol (Autonomous region of Italy). The meeting was organized by International Tibet Network.
The meeting opened with a welcome address by Alison Reynolds, Executive Director of International Tibet Network. She highlighted the background and importance of this meeting and outlined the meeting’s agenda for the next three days followed by introduction of EURAC by Mr. Gunther Cologna, Vice-President of ITN Board Members.
Representative Ngodup Dorjee addressed the gathering and appealed to all the participants to take active part in this meeting to strategize a way forward in implementation of activities adopted from this meeting in their respective areas and make more effort to strengthen the issue of Tibet in the international platform.
“It’s not important to differentiate supporters on the basis of “complete independence” or “Middle Way Policy”. Our focal point should be to achieve basic and meaningful freedom for the Tibetan people,” said Representative Ngodup Dorjee.
Representative Ngodup Dorjee also attended the Indian Music Festival organized by Casa del Tibet on 1st July in Canossa invited by Dr. Stefan Dallari, President of Casa del Tibet, Italy.
This three-day meeting was attended by around 50 participants from 18 different countries. The meeting concluded with plenty of concrete activities according to organizer.
The International Tibet Network promotes campaigns designed to end human rights violations in Tibet and restore the Tibetan people’s right under international law to determine their own political, economic, social, religious, and cultural status. The Tibet movement is stronger and more effective with coordinated strategic campaigns that member groups participate in together.
