DHARAMSHALA: Dr Pema Yangchen, the newly sworn-in Kalon of the 15th Kashag has taken charge as the Kalon of the Department of Education on 4 April 2018. The staff and officials of the department organised a brief welcome reception for the Kalon on the day.

The welcome reception was also attended by the chairman of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society, Director of TCV, principals, headmasters and administrators of Tibetan schools around Dharamshala along with the staff of the education department.

Responding to media queries regarding specific plans for the education department, she said she will first work strenuously to further strengthen the education policies already formulated by the previous Kalons. She also promised to work hard to fulfill the expectations of the public and the schools.
