Members of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Felicitate Indian MPs on Election VictoryTuesday, 19 May 2009, 6:21 p.m.

A Tibetan Parliamentary delegation consisting of three members headed
by the deputy speaker left here Monday for New Delhi to congratulate
the newly elected members of the Indian Parliament.The Election
Commission of India on Sunday announced results for all the 543 elected
seats of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Indian Parliament, giving
the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) 262 seats, 10 short
of a majority. Mrs Dolma Gyari, deputy speaker of the Tibetan
Parliament is accompanied by Mr. Karma Chophel, current member and
former speaker of Tibetan Parliament and Ven. Sonam Tenphel, member of
Parliament.During the visit, the delegation will also meet
elected members from the State of Himachal Pradesh (HP), including Raja
Vir Bhadra Singh, former chief minister of HP and Anurag Thakur, member
of Bharatya Janta Party. The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will also felicitate other newly elected members from Himachal Pradesh.
