Dharamshala: The speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, Mr Penpa Tsering, will attend the commemoration of 10th founding anniversary of the International Campaign of Tibet (ICT) Europe in Netherlands on 17 May at the invitation of ICT.
The speaker left Dharamshala on Thursday for visits to Netherlands, France and Italy.Speaker Penpa Tsering will address members of ICT at its 10th anniversary function in Amsterdam on 17 May, following which he will meet the members of the Tibetan community living in Netherlands. On 18 May, the speaker will meet members of Dutch Parliament. During his visit to France, the speaker is scheduled to meet Mr Lionnel Luca, President of the Tibet Group in the National Assembly, the Lower House of French Parliament on 19 May.Later in the afternoon, he will speak to the Tibetan community based in France at Rigpa Centre Hall.Following this the speaker will meet Mr Jean Francois Humbert, President of the Tibet Support Group in the French Senate.On 20 May, he will meet Vincent Poux, the secretary of the Tibet Group in the Senate. He will leave France for Italy.The highlight of his programmes in Italy includes meetings with the officials of Italian Provinces of Bolzano, South Tyrol and Trento.On 21 May, Speaker Penpa Tsering will meet Dr Luis Durnwalder, President of Bolzano, Mr Luigi Spagnolli, Mayor of Bolzano and the Directorate of the Provincial Legislature of Bolzano-South Tyrol.On the same day, he will attend a public conference and presentation of a book written by Eva Pfostl and a dinner reception with Tibet supporters.On 22 May, the speaker will hold meetings with Lorenzo Dellai, President of Trento and the Dean of the Law Department of Trento University. Later in the evening, he will participate in a conference on the state of the dialogue process between the envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Chinese leadership and the prospects of resolving the issue of Tibet.The speaker will also visit Rome from 25 – 26 May.He will return to India on 29 May.
