PARIS, France: Ten town halls in France raised the Tibetan national flag on 10 March to mark the 59th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day. The town halls that raised the Tibetan national flag are Ceyrat, Crest, Nancy, Nantes, St Gartien, St Genes, Usson-du-Poitou, Valencianes, Ozoir-la-ferriere and Paris town hall.
Around 300 Tibetans and French also gathered near the Eiffel Tower in Paris to mark the 59th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day. Secretary Namgyal Samdup of Bureau du Tibet read out the official statement of the Sikyong. Senator Andre Gattilon attended the function and addressed the gathering, speaking in support of the Tibetan people and the Tibet cause.
Following the brief function, a protest march was jointly organised by the Tibetan Community France, SFT France, RTYC France and Chushi Gangdruk France.
