
BANGALORE: Kalon for the Department of Home, Dolma Gyari, met senior officials of the government of Karnataka during her recent visit to south India. She was accompanied by Chief Representative of South Zone, Mr Karma Singe.
During her last leg of visit at Doeguling Tibetan settlement in Mundgod on 25 August, Kalon Dolma Gyari met V S Patil, Member of State Assembly, and Imkongla Jamir, Deputy Commissioner. She paid pilgrimages to a local temple, mosque and church.
While returning to Bangalore, she laid a wreath at Nijalingapa memorial at Chitradurga. Late Mr S Nijalingapa, former chief minister of Karnataka, had provided land for the first Tibetan refugee settlement in the state.
On 27 August, Kalon Dolma Gyari met chief secretary S V Ranganath and home-cum-revenue secretary R Amarnavayan. She thanked the state government for taking special care of Tibetans living in the state during the recent crisis. She requested the state government for its continuous support for Tibetans in getting basic necessities such as water, electricity and road, and to expedite issuance of revenue certificates to farmers.
Kalon Dolma Gyari left Bangalore for New Delhi yesterday.
