Bir: The 11th Local Tibetan Assembly of the Bir Derge Tibetan settlement was sworn in on 10 August 2024, following the election of its 15 new members.

Out of the 15 new members, 2 attended the swearing-in ceremony in person, and the rest attended it virtually. The oath-taking was administered by the Local Justice Commissioner for the Northern region, Choekyi.

Tsering Dorje and Ngawang Trinley were unanimously elected as the President and Vice President of the Bir Derge Local Tibetan Assembly, respectively.
