
Mundgod: On 27 December 2025, the 55th Anniversary Commemoration of the establishment of Gaden Shartse Thoesam Norling School, along with the Inauguration of its CBSE Affiliation, was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm. The occasion marked a significant milestone in the institution’s long-standing journey of academic excellence and dedicated service to education.
The program was graced by Shri Madhu Bangarappa, Hon’ble Minister for the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest, and Dolma Gyari, Hon’ble Minister, Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), along with Kumari Kavyarani, Assistant Commissioner and Sub-divisional Magistrate, Sirsi; Shri Shankar Gowdi, Tahsildar; Ms. Suma G., Block Education Officer (BEO), Mundgod; Shri D. R. Naik, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Sirsi; and other distinguished dignitaries.
In his address, the Hon’ble Chief Guest appreciated the institution’s valuable contribution to quality education and highlighted the significance of CBSE affiliation in enhancing academic standards, promoting holistic development, and preparing students to meet future challenges with confidence.
A special felicitation ceremony was held to honour teachers who have rendered more than 15 years of dedicated service, as well as individuals who played a pivotal role in securing the CBSE affiliation. The affiliation process, which commenced in March 2023 and was successfully completed in November 2025, spanned nearly two years and eight months, reflecting the institution’s perseverance, commitment, and adherence to quality benchmarks. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
The celebration proved to be a memorable and meaningful occasion for the entire school community, symbolising both a proud reflection on past achievements and a hopeful vision for a progressive future.
Later, at around 1:30 p.m., the Hon’ble Minister visited the Tibetan Settlement Office, Mundgod. Before departing for Belgaum, he was requested to visit the Drepung Gomang Monastic School, which is also in the process of applying for CBSE affiliation. During his visit, the Hon’ble Minister interacted with the school administrators and assured them that all state-related requirements for CBSE affiliation, including the No Objection Certificate (NOC) and State Recognition, would be processed at the earliest.
