London: Tibetan Community in UK celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the conferment of Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the Dalai Lama in major cities in the UK including London, Bristol, Leeds and Bournemouth during the weekend on Saturday, 11 December 2021.
In London, the joyful celebration was organised by the Tibetan community in Britain at Aubert Court Community Centre in Central London with cultural performances, essay reading, quiz competition on His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama and Tree- Planting project kick-off presentation in honour of His Holiness the Dalai Lama by Tibetan Community in Britain. The public was entertained with beautiful cultural dance and melodious songs, bingo game and Tibetan circle dance.
The chief guest for the occasion was Mr Sonam Tsering Frasi, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for Northern Europe, the Baltic States and Poland. After paying tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Mr Frasi expressed his warm greetings to everyone present for the celebration of the 32nd conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness Dalai Lama. He spoke about the Nobel peace prize awarded to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1989 and said this award gave His Holiness and the Tibetan people the opportunity for Tibetan freedom struggle on the global stage. He also spoke about the workings of the Office of Tibet in reaching out to MPs and Foreign ministries relating to the Beijing Winter Olympics. He announced the Kashag’s recent V-TAG launched in the last month and invite online registrations from the Tibetans in London office jurisdiction to take part in this new initiative on Tibet advocacy to reinforce the existing advocacy campaigns across the world.
He applauds the workings of the Tibetan community in the UK especially the young generation taking serious responsibilities in the Tibet community council members.
The celebration was also attended by former Tibetan MP Lhamo Kyap, former representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at London Office Mr Tsering Tashi and Staffs of Office of Tibet, London.
