Bylakuppe: The Karnataka government has generously started providing 2nd dose vaccine for Tibetans in Bylakuppe settlement by initiating a mass vaccination drive at Lugsam Samdupling hall from 23 August 2021. So far, 2028 people were successfully vaccinated with the second dose of the vaccine.
On the first day of the mass vaccination drive, 218 people were inoculated with the second dose. On the second day 24 August, 610 people were vaccinated at Lugsam community hall. RAT and RT-PCR tests were done before the inoculation for 70% of the people on both days.
During these 2 days of inoculation, Periyapatna Taluk Hospital staff, PHC Bylakuppe staff, and Tsojhe Khangsar Hospital staff, Settlement office staff, and camp leaders rendered their services to vaccinate a total of 828 Tibetan free of cost. The remaining 50% of settlers will be covered within the coming two days.
Namdroling Monastery has vaccinated 1200 monks and nuns on 23rd August 2021 at their premises by inviting Apollo Hospital staff. A total of 2028 people were vaccinated within two days in Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement.
