Gopalpur: The 23rd Inter-House Athletics Meet of SOS TCV Gopalpur was held with great enthusiasm and participation on Monday, 20 October 2025. The event was graced by the Justice Commissioner of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Dawa Phunkyi, as the chief guest, and Major General Sanjive of the Yol Military Army Camp as the special guest.

In his address, Justice Commissioner Dawa Phunkyi expressed his gratitude to the school Principal, Karma Sherab Tharchin, for the invitation. He emphasised the importance of sports in fostering values such as discipline, teamwork, and participation—principles are essential to a holistic education and the development of responsible, compassionate individuals.

The Justice Commissioner also highlighted the special significance of this year, designated by the CTA as the Year of Compassion in celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday. He urged students to embody the values of compassion, nonviolence, and moral integrity both on and off the field.

Encouraging students to uphold fair play and humility in competition, he reminded them that true victory lies in maintaining the spirit of compassion and sportsmanship. He also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of teachers, staff, and parents in nurturing the younger generation.

The event featured a variety of athletic competitions, reflecting the vibrant school spirit and dedication of the TCV Gopalpur community.

Justice Commissioner Phunkyi concluded by wishing the event great success and encouraged the continued cultivation of unity, healthy competition, and compassion within the school and beyond.
