
NEW DELHI: A workshop on the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy-2014 was organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India on 17 November in New Delhi.
The workshop was aimed at informing and to elaborate on the contents of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy – 2014. The policy was formulated by Government of India after a series of request by CTRC officials for solving issues and problems faced by the Tibetan refugees settled in India.
The workshop was chaired by Honorable Minister of State for Hoem Affairs Shri. Kiren Rijiju.
He gave a remarkable opening address to the participants where two joint secretaries and concerned official from MHA along with 7 different state officials representing the states where Tibetans are rehabilitated.
More than 125 Tibetan delegation led by Home Kalon Gyari Dolma,Mr. Tempa Tsering, Representative of Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Home Secretary Mr. Sonam T Khorlatsang, and Secretary Mr. Dhondup Dorjee, Department of Religion & culture, two additional sectaries of Department of Home with chief planning commission of CTA participated in the workshop from centre and settlement.
Shri. K.K. Pathak, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs gave a presentation on the gist of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy and also urged the state government officials to reinforce the policy. Shri. G.K Diwindi, Joint sectary of the Foreigner Division and two concerned centre officials from the Intelligence Bureau also presented the issue related to RC, IC, PAP, EXIT Permit of its procedure.
Home Kalon Gyari Dolma on behalf of the Central Tibetan Relief Committee and the Tibetan refugees in India extended gratitude to the Central government officials particularly to Honorable Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju and Joint Secretary Shri. K. K Pathak.
The queries and doubts expressed by the participants were earnestly answered and clarified by the concerned central government officials.
