Dharamshala: Tibetans and well-wishers of His Holiness the Dalai Lama across the globe gathered at their local monasteries and community areas to recite mantra of the Medicine Buddha for the successful medical treatment of His Holiness’ knee which is scheduled for today in the United States.
The prayer services were coordinated by the Offices of Tibet, Tibetan Settlement Offices, various Tibetan Associations, institutions, NGOs, monasteries, schools, and supporters of Tibet worldwide. Likewise, departments and offices of the Central Tibetan Administration paused their daily tasks this afternoon to join in reciting the mantra.
A week earlier, on 21 June, His Holiness the Dalai Lama departed Dharamshala for the United States via Switzerland to undergo medical treatment for his knee. In anticipation, Tibetan state oracle Nechung Choegyal prophesied that devotees and followers should accumulate the Medicine Buddha’s mantra.
