Dharamshala: Kalon Karma Yuthok of the Department of Culture and Religion honored the Inter-house Cultural Dance Competition at TCV school upper as the chief guest yesterday.
Principal Mrs. Ngawang Lhamo convened the program with a welcome speech and the introduction of this year cultural dance competition.
Following the spectacular and vibrant performances put up by each of the school houses, Kalon Karma Yuthok addressed the gathering. Kalon congratulated the winning house and meanwhile, he applauded the hard work and dedication that went into organising the event and thus encouraged the school to continue organising such events that promote the unique culture and tradition of Tibet.
He further extolled the admirable contribution of Tibetans in exile for preserving the vitality of the unique Tibetan cultural heritage.
“If we look back over the last 60 years, remarkable development and changes have taken place for the Tibetans in exile in various economic, social and educational aspects, However, we cannot take our success story for granted as even today we are dealing with a critical time period and our fight for the cause of Tibet is not yet over ” reiterated Kalon Karma Yuthok while calling for the collective participation and effort of Tibetans across the world in fulfilling the wishes of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The event is dedicated to the celebration of the 85th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and is also aimed at imbibing in the younger generation the rich Tibetan culture.
