Dharamshala: Although no positive change has come to pass on China’s Tibet policy, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the exile Tibetan administration will remain steadfast in its quest for resolving the issue of Tibet through the ongoing process of dialogue,Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche told a thousand-odd Tibetans gathered here at the Tsugla Khang yesterday, to celebrate His Holiness’ 71st birthday.
At a time when His Holiness is genuinely committed to the Tibetan people’s harmonious existence in the large family of the People’s Republic of China, censuring His Holiness with profane language, by most leaders of the Tibet Autonomous Region and some key officials of the United Front Work Department, will only provoke separatism, the Kalon Tripa added
Present at the function were all the dignitaries of the exile administration, including the Chief Justice Commissioner and Justice Commissioners, Chairperson of the Assembly, Kalons and
members of the Assembly.
Delivering the statement of the Assembly, Mr. Karma Choephel, the chairperson of the Assembly, said that if Tibetans could vow to stand united, by discarding any lingering remnants of
partisanships based on religion or province, that would be the best birthday gift for His Holiness.
