US ambassador to Nepal visits Tibetan refugee center

Dharamshala:The Ambassador of the United States to Nepal Ms Nancy Powell visited the Tibetan refugee reception center in Kathmandu, Nepal on 26 September, according to a report by the Tibet office in Nepal.
Two representatives, on behalf of the new arrivals from Tibet at the reception center welcomed the Ambassador with traditional Tibetan scarves, while all others lined up to greet her.
Ms Powell, to take stock of the living conditions of the new arrivals, visited the hostels, health care centers and the kitchen of the reception center.
The Ambassador who was accompanied by Mr Dewey Pendergrass,Vice Consul for refugee affairs, Mr Daniel H Garret, President of United Nations High Commisssion for Refugees, and Representative, Mr Abraham Abraham.
The Secretary of Tibet Office at Kathmandu, Mr Jigme Wangdu briefed the US ambassador on the Tibetan refugees in Nepal.
