Karze (Ch: Ganzi) County, Karze “TAP”, Kham (incorporated into Chinese Province of Sichuan) – A 21-year girl arrested for staging peaceful protest
Rinchen Lhamo, a 21-year girl from Tapon-tsang family situated near
Tachu Bridge, Karze County, staged a peaceful protest while waving the
banned Tibetan flag at around 10:00 AM on May 28. During the protest,
she scattered in the air many posters written with slogans such as
“Tibet is an independent country”, “His Holiness the Dalai Lama must be
welcomed to Tibet” and “China quit Tibet”.
She was severely beaten at the protest site and then arrested
by County Public Security Bureau (PSB) personnel. During her arrest,
local people at the protest site told PSB personnel that what they were
doing was not good. However, PSB personnel did not heed the request
from the local people. People also heard gunshots near the protest
site. Apart from this, there is no additional information.

Ngaba (Ch: Aba) County, Ngaba “TAP”, Amdo (incorporated into Chinese Province of Sichuan) – An arrestee dies from inhumane treatment
Due to severe torture, Paltsel Kyab (or Shikalo), age 58, died
in Ngaba County prison on 24 May. (With this, total death toll rises to
207)
He was a resident of Nak-tsangma area in Ngaba County, and was
arrested on around 24 April by County PSB personnel for his alleged
involvement in a protest carried out in Ngaba County in March.
