UK and Italian parliamentary delegations to visit Dharamshala

Dharamshala: A fifteen-member delegation from United Kingdom including five British Parliamentarians will visit Dharamsala from 1 to 5 October at the invitation of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile to learn the realities of the Tibetan situation, and to exchange parliamentary experiences.
The British parliamentarians and their Tibetan counterparts will discuss what best can be done by either side for the restoration of human rights situation in Tibet, protection of the fragile Tibetan environment, and finding a lasting solution to the issue of Tibet.
During their 5-day stay in Dharamsala, they will meet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The delegates are also scheduled to meet all the top Tibetan dignitaries of the Central Tibetan Administration, including Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, the members of Kashag and the members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE).
They will interact with various Tibetan non-governmental organizations and visit various schools, monasteries, and institutions in the exile community in the region.
Later this month, at the invitation of TPiE, another 18-member Italian delegation from Counsiglio Regionale del Trentino and Consiglio Regionale del Piemonte are also visiting Dharamsala from 26 to 30 September.
The delegation includes the President of both the Trentino and Bolzano Parliament, Major of Cologno Monzese, Mr Mario Soldano and members of the Piedmonte regionale assembly.
During their 5-day visit to Dharamshala, the members will meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
They will also meet Kalon Tripa, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, members of the Kashag, and members of the TPiE.
The program also includes visit to Tibetan cultural, educational and medical institutions, and interaction with non-governmental organizations. The delegates will also interact with local Indian and Tibetan press.
