Two Tibetan School Teachers Receive National Award

Dharamshala: Two teachers of the Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA) received the National Award to Teachers-2005 from the Indian President, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
The award was presented at a teachers’ day function held this morning at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Mrs. Sonam Choedon, Post Graduate Teacher of the Central School for Tibetans (CST) Darjeeling, West Bengal, and Mr. N. K. Singh, primary teacher of the CST Sonata, near Darjeeling, were recipients of this year’s prestigious national award along with other 316 teachers from across India.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a silver medal and a certificate of merit.
The CTSA teachers were included among other recipients of the award from 2004. Since then two teachers of the CTSA receive the award every year.
