DHARAMSHALA: The annual meeting of the representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at CTA’s various Offices of Tibet successfully concluded yesterday.
The two-day meeting discussed a host of issues pertaining to the Tibetan struggle and how to resolve the Tibet issue based on the Middle Way Approach. The meeting particularly focused on the CTA’s plan to organise a grand ‘thank you year’ in 2018 to appreciate governments across the world especially India for their support to the Tibet cause.
During the meeting, Secretary Tenzin Taklha and Secretary Tseten Samdup from the Private Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama spoke about issues related to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visits abroad.
Finance Kalon Karma Yeshi spoke about budget and fund raising activities of the various Offices of Tibet.
The meeting also discussed DIIR’s various ongoing activities including UN and Human Rights advocacy, cyber security, social media campaigns and Tibet.net app development.
The two-day meeting began on 11 October. The meeting was inaugurated by President Dr Lobsang Sangay and the two secretaries of the Department of Information and International relations (DIIR).
Representatives of OOTs based in the US, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, France, New Delhi, Nepal, Belgium, Taiwan, Russia and Brazil. The two additional secretaries of DIIR and Chinese liaison officers based in the OOTs also attended the meeting.
