This year marks the 59th Anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day. On 10th March 1959, 300,000 Tibetans launched a peaceful demonstration outside the Norbulingka, Summer Palace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. This protest march was caused by fears of a plot to kidnap His Holiness the Dalai Lama by PLA officers who invited His Holiness alone to the theatrical performance in Lhasa.
It has been 59 years, like every passing year, on this particular day; Tibetans and Tibet supporters across the globe commemorate Tibetan National Uprising Day by observing massive public event, visiting temples, offering prayers, remembering the Tibetans who were brutally slaughtered under the hands of the People Republic of China.
