Training Programme on National Endowment for Democracy (NED) grant management

Dharamshala: A short training about the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) grant management was given to the representatives of the grantees today morning at Department of Information and International Relations(DIIR) hall.
Brian Joseph, Senior Program Officer for Asia, and Wilson Lee, Assistant Program Officer for Asia, conducted this training programme.
NED is a private, non-profit, grant-making organisation created in 1983. It is funded through an annual U.S. Congressional appropriation.
During the training, programme officers explained the objectives of NED and mentioned about the extend of financial support they are rendering to the needed ones.
The representatives from DIIR Museum, Finance department, Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Association, Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy, Gu-Chu-Sum(ex-political prisoners association), National Democratic Party, Tibet Information Network and other grantees attended this program.
In the afternoon they will hold a meeting to brainstorm on use of NED grants in the future.
