Training on teaching middle school social science through Tibetan

DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Education of the Central Tibetan
Administration has organised a training on teaching middle school
social science through Tibetan medium to twenty Tibetan teachers from
Sambhota Tibetan Schools and Tibetan Children’s Village Schools.
This training is for six days from 24th to 29th March, at College for
Higher Tibetan Studies, at Sarah, near Dharamsala. The teachers will be
trained to teach social science, history of Tibet, political
science,geography, and exile Tibetan political situation.
Mr. A. S. Rawat, Education Officer, Central Tibetan Schools
Administration will train the teachers in teaching geography, history
and political science. Mr. Sonam Gyaltsen of the College for Higher
Tibetan Studies, Sarah, and Mr. Dorjee Wangchuk, researcher at
Norbulingka Tibetan Cultural Institute, will train the teachers to
teach Tibetan history. Mr. Pema Jugney, member of Tibetan Parliament
in Exile will give a lecture on ‘Exile Tibetan political situation’.
Mr. Sonam Sangpo and Mr. Buddha Kyap of the department will train the
teachers to teach geography.
Teachers will also visit Songtsen Mevon Peton School during this training.
