
Dharamshala: The Department of Health (DOH), Central Tibetan Administration is organising a nine-day workshop on “Accounting, tallying, income tax and budgeting” from 20 to 28 August, 2013. A total of 11 accountants from 11 DOH affiliated hospitals and health centers are currently participating in this workshop including Ngoenga school for Tibetan Children with special needs.
Health Kalon Tsering Wangchuk inaugurated the workshop and spoke to the participants regarding the importance of upgrading their accounting skills in their daily work. Mr Tsegyal Dranyi, additional secretary of the Department of Health stressed the need to effectively manage and handle accounting tasks in their respective hospitals as per the annual budgetary rules and regulations.
Mr Rinzin Choephel, additional secretary of the Office of the Auditor General, CTA is the main resource person along with Mr Tenzin Legdup and Namgyal Samdup, officials from the Finance Department.
This workshop aims to develop the accounting capacity of the Department of Health’s various accountants in it’s branch clinics. It is jointly funded by Africa Tremila and SOIR, IM.
