On 17 June, the abbot of Rikon monastery as chief guest, the deputy representative of Tibet Bureau Geneva, the President and other members of Tibetan organisations in Switzerland, and over 500 Tibetan people gathered at Furstenlandsaal: Gossau SG’s Hall to witness Tibetan Opera, Tibetan Cultural dance, and modern music and dance by artistes and the AKAMA band. And at the request of the President and members of Swiss Tibetan Culture, TIPA managed to coordinate a brief gathering where young Tibetans from around the place who were interested in the unique Tibetan arts had an opportunity to exchange views with TIPA artistes covering wide-ranging aspects of performing arts and their experiences, which, TIPA stated it believed, opened the door for a future cooperation. TIPA expressed its heartfelt thanks to all for their overwhelming response during the event and for the generous donations.
Furthermore, TIPA expressed its utmost gratitude to the Swiss Tibetan Bureau for the kind invitation, the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, for their assistance in obtaining visas, and the organising committee and all others involved in this project for bringing TIPA to Switzerland after many years.
