Mysore: The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) presented traditional Tibetan dance on 12 April 2023 at a function called “Dances from Roof of the World” in the Sahukar Chenniah Auditorium of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysore. The event was jointly organised by Chief Representative Office – South Zone, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, and Indo-Tibetan Friendship Association (ITFA), Mysore.
The classical dance exhibition was attended by Dr B. Sadashive Gowda, Principal, VVCE; Er. P. Vishwanath, Secretary of VVCE Msyore; Jigmey Tsultrim, CRO Bangalore; Dhondup Tsering, Director at TIPA; and many other dignitaries and guests.
The event kicked off with an inaugural address by the Principal of VVEC, followed by remarks from the CRO Bangalore and a brief introduction of TIPA by Director Dhondup Tsering.
The professional artists from TIPA performed in an auditorium packed with spectators, including invitees, VVEC faculty and students, and Tibetan students. For many Indian attendees, it was their first experience seeing exotic performances from the roof of the world.
It was the first such outreach program conducted by TIPA in Mysore and was lauded by the audiences with standing ovations.
