Tibetans to join relief work in Taiwan’s typhoon affected areas [Friday, 21 August 2009, 5:16 p.m.]

20 Tibetans mostly from Taipei, headed by Mr. Jamga, the president of
Taiwan-Tibetan Welfare Association will extend help in the voluntary
cleanup and relief work in the area worst affected by Typhoon Morakot
in Taiwan, the office of Tibet Religious Foundation of His Holiness the
Dalai Lama based in Taipei said.Last Saturday, Tibet Religious
Foundation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama had organized a special
prayer for the victims of Typhoon Morakot. The Foundation has also
received a total cash donation of NT$ 228300/- from individual Tibetans
and Taiwanese Buddhists. The Foundation will send the donation to the
registered organisation responsible for supervising the relief work.The
Central Tibetan Administration in India yesterday organized a special
prayer session to express Tibetan peoples deep condolences and prayer
for the victims of Typhoon. The people of Taiwan have expressed appreciation for the moral support and prayers offered by the Tibetan people.
