Washington DC: Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Kalon for the Department of Home visited Tibetan people living in Toronto on 23 July 2018. Addressing the public gathered in Gangjong Choedenling community hall, he reminded the audience about His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s efforts and achievements being the greatest compared to his predecessors. Tibetan people should, therefore, remember his kindness. He then spoke about the purpose of his visit and the important projects and programs the Kashag implemented during the first two years of its term. He specifically warned the Tibetan people about outside elements who intentionally cause distrust and disturbances in the community and thereby trying to destroy our unity which is the strength of our struggle.

Visiting Karma Sonam Dhargye monastery, Home Kalon welcomed and thanked the initiative of the monastery, teaching the Tibetan language to the Tibetan children. He advised the children to speak in the Tibetan language in their daily life.

With this leg of his visit, Home Kalon finished his tour to US & Canada. His visit was facilitated by the Office of Tibet based in Washington DC and he was accompanied by Deputy Secretary, Tenzin Tsepak.
