Dharamshala: Tibetans in Kathmandu mourned the death of former Prime Minister of Nepal and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala by holding special mass prayer monlam at the premises of Boudhnath Stupa. They also lit hundreds of butter lamps. Thinley Gyatso, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Nepal said, “He was always kind and generous to all the people, irrespective of their political and religious faith.”Former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala had served the country as the prime minister for four terms and the president of Nepali Congress. He has been a towering political figure known for his ability to bring peace by ending the decade-long civil war by the Maoist rebels.Mr Koirala, aged 85, who passed away on Saturday afternoon was suffering from heart and respiratory problems.
