Tibetans in festive mood as Losar approaches

Dharamshala: Dharamshala will welcome the 2134 Fire Pig Year with a grand early morning ceremony to be held at the Tsuklakhang cathedral (Main Temple) on the first day of Losar (Tibetan New Year), which falls on 18 February.
The ceremony will begin at 7 am on the rooftop of the main temple with the performance of Tsetor (propitiation rituals which involves offering of ceremonial cakes) for the goddess Palden Lhamo by the monks of Namgyal Monastery.
Tsetor will be followed by the official function at 9 am.
According to the Losar progamme issued by the Department of Security, all the civil servants and retired civil servants of the Central Tibetan Administration and staff of the Tibetan institutions need to bring their ID cards to attend the official function which is to be held inside the Tsuklakhang main hall.
