Tibetans in Kollegal take part in International Yoga Day on 21 June, Karnataka.

DHARAMSHALA: As a part of Central Tibetan Administration’s Thank You India-2018 campaign, thousands of Tibetans across India took part in yoga sessions to mark the 4th International Yoga Day announced by the Government of India. Themed ‘Toward a Healthy India’, the initiative is aimed at bolstering India’s efforts to make yoga a mainstream practice in India and across the globe.

Clad in ‘Thank You India’ T-shirt, Tibetans, young and old in Tibetan settlements across India, from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnantaka, from Arunachal Pradesh to New Delhi organised and participated in yoga sessions.

With the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and under the leadership of the Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan people across India are observing the year 2018 as Thank You year. With a series of Pan-India events spanning 12 months both on the physical and virtual space, the Tibetan people will publicly express gratitude to the Government and people of India, for ensuring the success of the efforts of Tibetan people: promoting its rich ancient culture and unique identity, assuring the viability and sustainability of Tibetan leadership and Tibetan communities, and leading the Tibetan struggle through steadfast commitment to non-violence and dialogue.
