Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation to visit Switzerland

Dharamshala: A two-member Tibetan parliamentary delegation led by Pema Jungney, chairman of the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD), will visit Switzerland to participate in meetings with the members of the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Tibet.
The delegation will also attend the address of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the members of Indian Parliament at the Parliament Annexe Building in New Delhi.
The 11-day visit to Switzerland from 9-19 December is organised by the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Tibet.
On 10 December, the delegation will attend the World Human Rights Day in Geneva and other functions organised by the Tibetan community in Swiss.
Mr. Hanspeter Frei, President of the Parliament of Canton, Zuerich, will receive the Tibetan delegation for their visit to the Parliament of Canton.
On 13 December, the delegation will visit both Houses of the Swiss National Parliament, where they will be received by Mr. Claude Janiak, President of the Swiss National Parliament, and meet with the members of the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Tibet.
The Tibetan delegation will also meet with the Head of the Human Rights Division Departure for Zuerich/Winterthur and the executive committee members of the Swiss Tibetan Friendship Association.
On 17 December, the delegation is expected to address the celebration to commemorate the anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama being presented the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
Besides, the delegation will also talk to the Tibetan people in Switzerland and hold question and answer sessions.
