DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today congratulated India’s Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party for their historic win in the recent national election.
“On behalf of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, I have the great pleasure and privilege to congratulate you and your party for this 2014 historic victory most heartily,” Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, said in the congratulatory letter.
“During the course of electioneering, we have noted with satisfaction how the democracy of India won above the regionalism and castism under your projection as the Prime Ministerial Candidate of BJP. We wish you success in your entire endeavour and we are sure that with your courage and wisdom, you will guide India to peace and prosperity,” the letter noted.
“We hope you will not only maintain the tradition of support for the cause of Tibet but give the much needed strength to resolve the issue of Tibet in the interest of all.”
