DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has a sent a letter of congratulation to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on winning the recent federal elections.

In the letter to Chancellor Merkel, Speaker Penpa Tsering wrote: “On behalf of all the Tibetan people, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile wishes to congratulate you for the emphatic victory in the recent election and also for being elected for the third term as the Chancellor. We wish you all the success in your endeavours.

“As you are well informed about the situation in Tibet, we seek your continued support in peacefully resolving the ongoing crisis in Tibet and a lasting solution to the long standing issue of Tibet.”
