DHARAMSALA: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile today congratulated the newly-elected chief ministers of the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.

In separate congratulatory letters to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Virbhadra Singh and Gujarat CM Mr Narendra Modi, the Tibetan Parliament Speaker Mr Penpa Tsering said: “On behalf of all the Tibetan people, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile wishes to congratulate you and your party for the emphatic victory in the recent state elections. We wish you all the success in your endeavour and we are sure your leadership will take your state to greater heights in future.

“We have always been very appreciative of your support for the Tibetan people and the cause of Tibet.”
