DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament has approved the Central Tibetan Administration’s total revised budget of Rs. 109,287,3911, an increase of Rs 5,97,5711 (5.78%) from the annual budget of Rs. 103,311,8200 sanctioned in March this year, the Parliamentary Secretariat said in a statement on its website.

Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel presided over the meeting on the revised budget from 24 – 29 November. It was attended by the standing committee members, Karma Choephel, Juchen Kunchok Choedon, Khenpo Tsering Norbu, Pema Jungney, Karma Yeshi, Jamyang Zoepa, Atruk Tseten, Geshe Monlam and Mokru Tenpa. Parliamentary Secretary Tobgyal, Additional Secretary Tashi Gyamtso Shadrong and other concerned officials were present.The seven departments and offices of the CTA had submitted their respective revised budget at the end of October to the Department of Finance and the Kashag, which in turn presented it to the Tibetan Parliament for its approval.Through the revised budget the departments can seek new and additional budget required for the activities for which fund sanctioned under the original budget is not sufficient.
