Tibetan MPs attend ‘Communication and Strategic Planning’ workshop

Dharamshala: A ten-member
delegation of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, led by Speaker Karma
Chophel, are attending a workshop on “Emotionally Effective
Communication and Strategic Planning” in New Delhi, which began 24
July.
The Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre-based in New
Delhi, which is organizing the workshop, has extended an official
invitation to the Tibetan parliamentary delegation.
Members of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile in the delegation are
Sonam Damdul, Dolkar Lhamo, Tseringpo, Juchen Kunchok, Ngawang Lhamo,
Dawa Tsering and Chabdak Lhamo Kyab, Geshe Yungdung Gyaltsen and Tsetan
Norbu.
Dr Peter Traub is the resource person, who will be interacting with the participants.
The workshop will continue till 30 July.
Besides attending the workshop, Speaker Karma Chophel will
preside over a press conference to be organized by the Tibetan
Solidarity Committee on 30 July. Mrs Dolma Gyari, deputy speaker of the
Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and Penpa Tsering, member of Parliament,
will be present at the conference.
The Tibetan Solidarity Committee – constituted by the Kashag
and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile – aims to plan, inform, coordinate
and lead the movement in exile in unity under the policy of Middle-Way
Approach of the Central Tibetan Administration to resolve the present
crisis in Tibet.
On 2 August, the speaker will leave New Delhi for a two-day visit to Japan.
At the invitation of Taiwan-based Foundation for Democracy, he
will take part in “2008 International Conference on Global Support for
Democratisation in China and Asia” in Japan from 4 – 5 August.
From 7 – 14 August, the speaker will attend a week-long
“Seminar on Religious Freedom” in Assisi, Italy, at the invitation of
Mr Matteo Maccaci, member of Italian Parliament. He will also meet and
interact with members of Italian Parliament.
He will return to Dharamshala on 19 August.
