Taipei: Tibetan Buddhist monks in Taiwan offered prayers at a service held on 19 October for those who passed away in a tragic fire accident that engulfed a 13-story building in Kaohsiung, a city in Taiwan’s south. At least 46 people have passed away and 41 were injured with severe burns in the fire that took place on 14 October 2021.
As requested by the city officials, over 60 Tibetan Buddhist monks from diverse Tibetan religious traditions offered prayers for those who passed away in the tragic accident. The monks also offered prayers for the victims of last year’s tragic train accident.
