Dharamshala: The Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, invites and encourages Tibetans in India to enrol in the Tibetan Medicare System (TMS). All Tibetans residing in settlements are requested to contact their respective Tibetan Settlement Offices or local Tibetan Health Centres for enrolment in the TMS program. Registration for the financial year 2026–27 commenced on 1 January 2026 and will close on 31 March 2026.

Enrolment is currently underway across 36 Tibetan settlements in India and is being conducted under the leadership of Tibetan Settlement Officers and the hospital administrators of Tibetan Health Centres. The program aims to ease the financial burden of heavy medical expenses arising from unexpected health issues, such as surgeries and other serious illnesses, provided that beneficiaries are registered TMS members and have paid their premiums on time.
